Graphical presentation enables the user to manage vast amounts of data several times larger than the quantity usually manageable in the form of numerical tables. Besides, this data is not static. The users can customize its presentation according to their needs. Different colors can mean different object states, various phases of processes or conditions. Properties dialog or Fonts & Colors option from the popup menu offers quick selection of fonts and colors for particular objects, backgrounds, grids and rulers.
The objects that are not essential can perhaps better be hidden. Some objects that hold an information that is vital for the working process but could be annoying when displayed constantly, show their content only when the mouse is hovered over for a short time. Some objects can be moved, others can bring more complex views, dialogs and other tools with a single mouse click. Users can work with single objects or join several selected objects into groups that can then be copied or moved across the same or into another window or simply inspected in lists that can be easily exported or copied via clipboard into other applications.
The user can quickly move in time from one location to another using scroll bars. Any location can be marked for future inspections using the enhanced bookmark system that is displayed on the horizontal ruler. This ruler represents the time component of the graph and can on one occasion be specified in days and on other in minutes, depending on the nature of the windows content. The user can always zoom in or zoom out the graph to make the objects more distinguishable or to widen the window scope.
When information that is displayed in one window is updated in a way that changes its object representation (size, color, text) then this change is reflected automatically in all other views that display the same information. This synchronization is performed not only within the current application, but also among various applications on the same computer as well as similar applications on computers within a workgroup.
In this way it is possible to provide every user with the most updated and complete information available within the system. This saves precious time and makes work much easier.
Simple and intuitive navigation of windows quickly brings together events that are in reality far apart in space and time. A double click on a selected date in the Calendar view instantly changes several windows displaying different views on the selected data. And this is not the only function of the Calendar view. Special date periods are marked in different colors indicating various phases of the planning process as well as valid edit rights currently assigned to different groups involved in operations.
Another useful function of this view is performing various find and search functions on selected date masks.
